Pamela Taylor | Vice President Employer branding & Talent Acquisition | Bertelsmann

After seeing Bertelsmann’s on-campus presentation at HHL and learning how interested they are in international profiles, I approached the company representative at the get-together afterwards to learn about internship opportunities in HR. One thing leads to another, and I ended up landing an internship in Talent Management at Bertelsmann’s corporate headquarters. This internship turned into a job offer. My first day of work was actually coming to HHL to do a company presentation – talk about full circle! Several years later I’m now Senior Vide President Corporate Employer Branding, and still visiting HHL once a year to get to know the latest generation of students.

                                FAQ

What is HHL's Full-time MBA and what degree does it award?

HHL’s Full-time MBA is an English-taught general management program designed for professionals seeking to develop broad business leadership and management skills. Based in Leipzig, Germany, the program awards a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with either 90 ECTS (Fast Track) or 120 ECTS (Advanced Track). HHL welcomes a new MBA cohort each September.

What is the difference between the Full-time MBA Fast Track and the Advanced Track?

The Fast Track (15 months) consists of 12 months of coursework, during which students complete the Essential Modules and choose 3 of 8 Deep Dives, followed by 3 months dedicated to the Master Thesis. The Advanced Track (up to 21 months) builds on the same curriculum and adds Customization Modules with additional practical experience, such as an internship, a student consulting project, a term abroad, or German language courses.

How is the Full-time MBA structured?

The Full-time MBA is built in several layers. Students start with Essential Modules covering the three core pillars: Management, Leadership, and Entrepreneurship. They then choose from elective Deep Dives to tailor the MBA to their interests and career goals. Advanced Track students also complete Customization Modules, adding a practical component such as an internship, consulting project, or optional term abroad. The program concludes with a Master Thesis.

What are the admission requirements for HHL's Full-time MBA?

The program is open to graduates from any academic discipline with a minimum of two years of post-graduate work experience. Candidates also require proof of very good English skills and competitive admissions test scores. Beyond test scores, HHL places equal weight on personality, motivation, and ambition. A free profile check is available for anyone unsure whether their background qualifies.

                                        Can I get a GMAT/admissions test waiver?

No, HHL does not usually waive the GMAT or HHL admissions test requirement, as it is one of the key eligibility criteria for admission. It allows HHL to fairly compare candidates from a wide range of academic, professional, and international backgrounds. You may submit your application before taking the test, but a valid score is required before an unconditional admission offer can be issued.

What are the tuition fees and funding options for the Full-time MBA?

The tuition fee for HHL’s Full-time MBA is EUR 42,500, including all teaching and one optional term abroad. Students pay a EUR 3,500 down payment followed by three tuition installments.
