Interview with Sina Maria Nöding, full-time Master in Management alumna
This article was first published on August 24, 2021.
New opportunities can be both exciting and scary at the same time. While we often look back and congratulate ourselves on taking the risk, the time leading up to that decision can be filled with doubts. Are we good enough? Will we be able to take on the responsibility? In this Women in Business interview, Sina Maria Nöding shares how she navigated this phase and ultimately took risks that paid off.
Career switch: From full-time job to full-time studies
Sina is an alumna of our full-time Master in Management program and was elected Head of the Energy Conference during her studies. Before joining HHL she worked for EVONIK as a Junior Manager for Operatives Marketing & Brand Management. She now works as Head of Business Development Projects at Handelsblatt Media Group.
Taking risks in business and life
In this conversation, Sina opens up about the importance of trusting her gut, how her friends encouraged her to lead one of HHL’s initiatives and why having a mentor has pushed her out of her comfort zone.
You think you know your limits, but then you are surprised how much you can actually achieve. This is something I learned at HHL.
Watch now and learn how to:
- Trust your gut with important decisions.
- Quiet that nagging voice in your head telling you that you aren’t good enough.
- Apply for a position you don’t feel qualified for.
- Grow a supportive relationship with a mentor.
If you keep hearing that little voice in your head, watch this interview and learn how to work with instead of against it.

Hej there! I'm Alexandra and a former Content Marketing Manager at HHL. One of my favorite tasks was interviewing the HHL community and sharing their success stories with you. My goal was to create a digital home for all the experiences and stories found in our community - and hopefully inspire you to join us on one of our campuses in Leipzig, Cologne or Munich.
