Welcome to the lecture Change Management with Prof. Dr. Johannes Meier

Nothing is as constant as change. Driven by economic developments, political movements and social trends, our world is in a permanent phase of transition. During the HHL Spirit Festival (HHL Alumni Homecoming), HHL is offering interested alumni the opportunity to sign up for a lecture in Change Management where they can broaden their knowledge in this field.

Within the lecture of the part-time MBA Program, Professor Meier will discuss the mechanisms of change at individual, corporate and societal levels and students will learn to relate the change imperative to the notion of learning as well as adaption. They will better understand why and how change needs stability and how organizations can manage the paradox of becoming agile and staying stable at the same time. Furthermore, students will reflect on their individual barriers and resources for change.

During this lecture, you will:

  • gain an overview of the drivers in current change processes
  • learn about barriers to change and analyze personal factors of change
  • discuss what are the necessary (personal) prerequisites for change
  • development essential theories to complexity and change
  • create with an ai tool like ChatGPT your own „business analyst“ and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your ai agent
  • discuss the political nature of leadership and change management.

As LLMs like ChatGPT-4 or BARD have reached a high level of performance in many areas, it makes sense to incorporate their capabilities into the management and communication of change, and therefore also into the learning journey of the students. A typical report assignment from a few years ago can now be adequately fulfilled if the students know just the basics of prompt engineering. Therefore, the course will partly come along like a “hackathon” where new prompts are engineered to solve a problem in change management.
